THIS WILL DESTROY YOU ANNOUNCE LATE WINTER 2012 TOUR

This Will Destroy You have scheduled a late winter tour, which begins January 28 in Denton, TX at Dan’s Silverleaf and currently wraps up on February 18 in Houston, TX at Warehouse Live. The tour includes the February 9th appearance at Ecstatic Music Fest, held at the Merkin Concert Hall at Kaufman Center. The tour will also feature first of three support from Amen Dunes. This Will Destroy You will have more dates to announce shortly — current tour schedule below.

Recently, This Will Destroy You released the “Black Dunes” 7” for Suicide Squeeze’s ongoing singles series. The single featured the “Black Dunes (edit)” on the A-side and “Black Dunes (Holy Other’s Woman In The Dunes” mix on the B-side. The Fader premiered “Black Dunes (Holy Other’s Woman In The Dunes mix)”(October 6), and had this to say: “Maybe Holy Other felt that his remix of This Will Destroy You’s “Black Dunes” was so divorced from the original, that he needed to semi-retitle it. Or maybe he just went on a Hiroshi Teshigahara bender (c/o Criterion Collection)? Either way, we are with him on this one. He takes all the clashing bleakness of TWDY’s original, and inserts some feminine sensuality (in the form of a woman’s looping vocal ooh ooh ooh) into an equally brooding landscape.”

In other news, This Will Destroy You’s “The Mighty Rio Grande” (from the band’s self-titled second album) is prominently featured in the film and trailer for the critically acclaimed film Moneyball
